Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly ready to spend big in the transfer market on players like Antoine Griezmann and Antonio Rudiger if the Blues’ poor form continues.
It’s not been the best of starts under new manager Antonio Conte, with back-to-back Premier League defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal highlighting some real weaknesses in this Chelsea squad.
The west Londoners only managed a 10th place finish in the league last season, but have struggled to adequately replace some of their ageing stars since then.
Chelsea had a quiet summer transfer window before deadline day moves for David Luiz and Marcos Alonso, which appeared to many as desperate panic buys after missing out on priority targets elsewhere.
Abramovich is concerned about the club’s form, however, and could show a bit more ambition in upcoming transfer windows with moves for Griezmann and Rudiger.
A deal for the Atletico Madrid superstar is unlikely until next summer, but Roma defender Rudiger could be a target for January, according to the Daily Telegraph.
