Chelsea forward Diego Costa says he misses Madrid but is ‘very happy’ in London.
The adopted Spaniard left Atletico Madrid for Chelsea in 2014 and was heavily linked with a move back to the club last summer.
However, Antonio Conte convinced the 27-year-old to stay at Stamford Bridge and he’s repaid the Italian with six goals in eight appearances this term.
And, though Costa admits he misses Madrid, he insists he’s happy to stay in west London.
‘A little. I like Madrid a lot, have had some very happy moments here. But I’m very happy in London,’ Costa told Spanish media.
‘I always follow Atletico and watch what they’re doing. They’re doing really well and I am so happy for them.
‘Atletico have been at this level for a few years — battling for every trophy and beating the best sides. I’m not surprised because they’re a top side and they deserve it.’
