According to the team’s spokesman, Toyin Ibitoye, the Eagles are expected to start their main business this morning, as all the players invited for the game were expected to have settled down after their haul flights from their bases.

Ibitoye disclosed that preparations were already in top gear, adding that the players have declared total war on the Zambians.

He assured that the team would be given all the needed assistance to conquer their opponents away from home, adding that the Super Eagles would be departing the country on Friday on a chartered flight.

“The Eagles could not begin full training as scheduled because most of the players arrived in camp late.

“After listening to the Manager, Gernot Rohr and his assistants, on the way forward Tuesday morning, the team would have their first training session this evening. All preparations are on track for the tie. As at this moment there is no problem in the camp,’’ he said.

Meanwhile, Zambia stepped up their preparations for the World Cup qualifier at the weekend, with the team’s acting head coach, Wedson Nyirenda, naming his final 23-man squad for the battle with Nigeria at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on October 9.

The coach has selected 14 players from the domestic league, who have been joined by nine foreign-based players in Ndola.
