A bloody Neymar was removed from Brazil’s 5-0 defeat of Bolivia after receiving an elbow to the face on Thursday.
The Barcelona star scored one goal and set up two more as Brazil outclassed the Bolivians in their CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier in Natal, Brazil, but wasn’t allowed to continue past the 69th minute.
Neymar went to ground after being accidentally elbowed during a one-v-one situation with a Bolivian defender near the touchline.
With the right side of his face streaming blood, the former Santos star received medical attention for the gash but was ultimately subbed off for Willian on 69 minutes.
Neymar had already received a 36th-minute yellow card that will rule him out of Tuesday’s final October qualifier against Venezuela.
