Manchester United are still waiting to ‘click’ – Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic admits Manchester United still need to “click” as a team this season.

Ibrahimovic, 35, was one of four new signings at Old Trafford in the summer — along with Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan — while the club also appointed a new manager in Jose Mourinho.

United currently sit seventh in the Premier League following Monday’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool and the former Sweden international believes the team still need time to gel.

“I think we’re working very hard and just need to find a click among each other,” he told ESPN Brasil. “Once we find that click, it makes it easy for ourselves. We’ll find each other much easier and the balance of defending and attacking will be much easier.

“So many things are new and we are working hard. At the same time, we haven’t had a lot of luck. Against Stoke [a 1-1 draw], we could have won the game very easily but we got one point and so on and so on. We need to work hard and stay focused and with a little bit of luck it will come.”

Monday’s draw at Anfield was a game of few chances with United’s defensive tactics seeing them have just 35 percent of possession — their lowest total in the Premier League since Opta started collecting data in 2003.

“After the second half, I think it was a good result,” Ibrahimovic said. “We came and did what we needed to do, especially in the first half. Second half, we loosened up a little bit and then they got more chances. They played more like they’re used to playing.

“It’s not easy to play here at Anfield. Liverpool, at the moment, are playing very good and doing great things in the competition.”
