Samir Nasri’s attempts to get back to best remained on track with Sevilla as he struck the winner in the 1-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday evening.

The 29-year-old featured just 13 times for Manchester City last season, while he was excluded for part of Pep Guardiola’s pre-season camp this summer after returning from holiday overweight.

But in his loan spell at Sevilla, the French midfielder has become a key part of their midfield under Jorge Sampaoli.

And in their win over Dinamo Zagreb, Nasri’s influence stood out with his impressive passing statistics.

Only Barcelona’s former maestro Xavi has attempted more in one game since 2005-06 than Nasri in Zagreb.

The Frenchman has also scored more goals for Sevilla than he managed for City in the whole of last season.
