Allardyce could make shock Sunderland return after England exit

Disgraced former England manager Sam Allardyce could make a quick return to Premier League strugglers Sunderland after leaving his post with the national team.

The 62-year-old was forced to quit as England boss after incriminating footage of him advising people he thought were agents on how to get around the Football Association’s rules on third-party ownership.

Allardyce only managed one game with the Three Lions, having left Sunderland just before the start of the season to replace Roy Hodgson.

However, a Chinese consortium is now considering a big move to take over the north east outfit, and supposedly want Allardyce to come back in as manager, according to The Sun.

Current boss David Moyes has endured a nightmare start with the Black Cats, failing to win a single game in the league so far and sitting rock-bottom of the table.

Sunderland chief executive Martin Bain has issued a vote of confidence in Moyes, but there is the growing feeling that the club could do well to bring back the man who turned their fortunes around to save them from relegation last season.
