The trio were invited to explain the exact amount received and how it was spent.

It was gathered that N550 million was allocated to Jigawa State as part of campaign fund, and that a former minister collected the money for disbursement to all PDP candidates.

Reacting, Jigawa PDP Chairman confirmed the summon by the anti-graft agency.

He said, “Yes, we were invited by EFCC over the campaign funds of 2015 general election.”

Meanwhile, the EFCC has urged for a review of Nigerian laws to enable anti-graft agencies in the country retain a percentage of the loot recovered to fund their operations.

The Acting Chairman of the commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu, made the request at the national anti-corruption conference organised by the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption (PACAC) and the National Assembly in Abuja.
