Kelechi Iheanacho rescued a point for Manchester City against Southampton as Pep Guardiola’s men faltered again.
A horrendous error from John Stones gifted Nathan Redmond a goal as the former Everton defender’s pass played the 22-year-old in behind to round Claudio Bravo.
Iheanacho, who came off the bench at half-time swept home from a tidy low Leroy Sane cross to level up as City improved dramatically in the second half.
Both Bravo and Fraser Forster were forced into good stops as each side had opportunities to snatch a winner but a draw was ultimately a fair result.
The result means Guardiola’s side have not won in their last five matches – his worst run in management since 2009.
The young striker came off the game and sparked his side into life. He scored a neat goal and generally gave City more attacking impetus.
Stones’ abysmal error in the first half gave Southampton the lead and kept City at bay. Will need to improve that side of his game.
