Cesc Fabregas is still struggling with a thigh problem which has ruled him out of Chelsea’s trip to West Ham in the EFL Cup, Antonio Conte has confirmed.
The 29-year-old midfielder has only made six appearances for Chelsea this term and, as a result of his lack of game-time, has been consistently linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in January.
Conte revealed that Fabregas had picked up a small muscular injury ahead of their 4-0 victory over Manchester United at the weekend.
And the Blues boss has confirmed that the midfielder remains on the sidelines in the lead-up to their match at Upton Park on Wednesday evening.
‘He’s not still well. We must wait, he had a muscular problem and we are waiting,’ Conte said.
‘We must be patient because the muscular problem was tight.
‘But I hope to see him soon with the team in the training session.’
