According to reports, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu on Thursday evening visited four former aides of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who are being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in Abuja, four various offences.
They are the former media director of the Goodluck/Jonathan 2015 presidential campaign, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, former Presidential Media Adviser, Dr. Reuben Abati, former FCT Minister, Mr. Bala Mohammed and for Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro.
It was learnt that the meeting was facilitated by the EFCC Liaison Officer at the National Assembly, Suleiman Bakari.
Senator Ekweremadu, who was on a solidarity visit was said to have been received at the EFCC headquarters by Deputy Director (Operations), Umar Abbas Operations,
Ekweremadu was said to have told them that what they were going through was part of challenge associated with leadership.
He however, urged them not to be weighed down by the situation but should be of good cheer and assuring them that at the end of the day they would be vindicated.
The four were said to have thanked the Deputy Senate President for finding time to visit them and also appreciated his leadership qualities.
They are being detained for allegedly collecting various sums of money from the former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki, who had also been in EFCC custody since December, 2015.
