At least seven people have been killed and several others injured following an attack by suspected herdsmen at Kaninkon village in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
The latest attack came barely two weeks after gunmen invaded Godogodo village in the same local government, killing over 40 people and burning down houses.
According to a resident of the area, the gunmen invaded the village on Thursday. They killed the village head and six others.
The latest attack has ignited tension in neigbouring communities in the southern part of Kaduna state where several people have been killed by gunmen since July 2016.
