Barcelona star Lionel Messi is alleged to have been involved in a mini-brawl with Manchester City players after his side’s 3-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Argentine forward, who scored to give Barca the lead in the eventual loss to City, was responding to comments made to him by an unnamed City player, and tried to find him afterwards.
The 29-year-old called the player ‘stupid’, though it is not clear what was said to him in the first place.
Messi reportedly tried to get into the City changing room, but fellow countryman and friend Sergio Aguero came in to calm the situation, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Not known to be one to lose his temper, Messi is respected worldwide not just for his immense footballing ability, but for his humility and low-key profile off the pitch.
Barcelona, City and Messi himself are yet to confirm these alleged events from last night.
