Cesc Fabregas has been revealed as Chelsea’s highest paid star and his whopping pay packet is the main reason the club are keen to offload him in January, according to The Times.
The Spain international is reported to earn a staggering £220,000-a-week once his image rights and other bonuses are accounted for, meaning he takes home more than the likes of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.
Fabregas has started just a solitary Premier League game so far this season – the shambolic 3-0 defeat against his former club Arsenal – and is unlikely to force his way back into Antonio Conte’s starting line-up with the Italian having presided over a four-game winning streak since switching to a 3-4-3 formation.
Despite his predicament, Fabregas remains determined to stay in London and fight to regain his first team place.
AC Milan are reported to have shown interest in loaning the 29-year-old with Chelsea willing to pay part of his salary, but Fabregas would rather wait until the summer to assess his future.
