Gunners fans have long thought that the club does suspiciously poorly in the month, and they have a fair bit of evidence to back up their claims.

However, Wenger clearly doesn’t buy in to it, and was bullish after coming from 2-0 behind against the Bulgarian side.

‘I don’t know who said we don’t win games in November but I can assure you we’ve won a few,’ said the 67-year-old.

Supporters were worrying that the curse had struck again when Ludogorets went 2-0 ahead in the first 15 minutes, but their fears were quickly allayed when Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud dragged it back to 2-2 before half time.

Gooners did then have to wait until the 87th minute for the goal that would seal their qualification though, when Mesut Ozil saved their blushes with a stunning solo effort.
While the result means that the north Londoners are now safely through to the last-16, they still have a fight on their hands with PSG for first place and an easier draw in the next round.
