Buhari’s anti-graft war not selective, says Adesina

It was gathered that the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to ‎President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Femi Adesina, has debunked claims that his principal’s anti-corruption fight is selective.

Adesina said the fact that chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and current political appointees are not being prosecuted does not suggest selective anti-graft campaign by the Buhari administration.

The presidential spokesman said this when he appeared on The Podium, a flagship programme on Sweet FM, Abeokuta.

According to him, no evidence of corruption has yet been established against APC chieftains and aides of the president.

Adesina declared that no indicted member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would escape prosecution by defecting to the APC.

“The onus lies on he who alleges to also prove. The fact that any Peoples Democratic Party member crosses to APC does not provide automatic shield. Whoever is indicted will be prosecuted,” he said.

Adesina maintained that the recent raid on some judges by operatives of Department of State Services (DSS) was only a raid on corruption and not the judiciary.
