Ancelotti worked with Higuain at Real Madrid, before the Argentina international was sold to Napoli in 2013, while he currently coaches Poland international Lewandowski at Bayern.

“I was unable to convince Higuain to stay in Madrid,” Ancelotti told Tuttosport. “He wanted a more regular game so he chose to move to Napoli. Gonzalo is the best centre-forward around, together with [Barcelona’s Luis] Suarez and Lewandowski.

“The Pole is a serious player. He’s not the kind to make jokes, even though he has a great relationship within the dressing room. He’s doing really well, he’s impressive. He’s one of Bayern’s key players and I cannot see him moving to Italy.”

Ancelotti also praised Juve’s Dybala, who has scored 22 Serie A goals in 42 appearances since joining the club from Palermo in 2015.

“He and Neymar could be the next [Lionel] Messi and [Real Madrid forward] Cristiano Ronaldo,” Ancelotti said. “Dybala is unique. He cannot be compared with any player from the past. He’s truly a modern forward, combining his runs and dynamism with his talent. He could make history with Juve for the next 10 years.”

Ancelotti also expressed his admiration for Barca star Messi, who the Italian would love to coach one day.

“He’s an incredible talent,” he said. “He’s good for football. He’s an outstanding footballer and if I ever get the chance to coach him, I’d be happy. But if not, I’m not going to pull my hair out.”
