The Greens’ coach has pointed out the Super Eagles backline as an area for his myriad of attacking talents to exploit.
Algeria coach Georges Leekens has said that the defensive frailties of Nigeria will be ‘taken into account’ when both teams lock horns in their 2018 World Cup qualifying match.
Despite having some key attacking talents pull out due to various injury problems, the Greens still have Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Sofiane Feghouli to bank on. And the Belgian is looking for his danger men to have a go at Gernot Rohr’s much-maligned defence line.
“The defence of Nigeria has some weaknesses that needs to be taken into account,” Leekens told media.
“To achieve a good result (in Uyo), we have to score one or more goals.
“(When that happens), they will (try) to the attack (us ceaselessly).
“We have to start the game well and also try to stop the Nigeria attacks,” he concluded.
