Manchester United‘s hopes of signing Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic have been dealt a fresh blow after the midfielder’s agent revealed his client’s intention to stay at the Camp Nou.
Rakitic, 28, moved to Luis Enrique’s side from Sevilla in 2014 and he’s won eight trophies in just two years with the Catalans.
The Croatian is a target for Jose Mourinho’s side with the Red Devils viewing the midfielder as the perfect foil for Paul Pogba.
However, despite possessing the necessary funds to purchase Rakitic, the Croatian’s agent has revealed he wants to stay in La Liga.
‘Ivan is very happy at FC Barcelona, where he has been tremendously successful and has a contract with the club until 2019,’ said Arturo Canales.
