Chief of Air Staff calls for vigilance as the year winds down

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar, has urged personnel of the Nigerian Air Force to be more vigilant as the year comes to an end due to increase in crime rate and other heinous activities.

Abubakar, who was represented by Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Iya, the NAF Director of Training and Operations, gave the charge shortly after the fourth quarter route march for officers and men of the force in Mogadishu Cantonement Abuja.

He said the physical fitness exercise is aimed at improving the general fitness of personnel adding that there is no substitute for exercise.

He further warned personnel not to travel during the Yuletide due to the rampant cases of accident and other crimes on our highways unless it is very necessary.

He said “Be more vigilante at this point in time especially as the year is gradually coming to an end. It is common knowledge that crime rate increases due to the desire by criminals to celebrate end of the year activities in grand style.

“May I also warn that personnel should travel only when necessary due to d rampant cases of accident and other crimes on our highways”

The Air Chief also assured personnel of more of such exercises in the coming year saying that the force, under his leadership will do everything humanly possible to improve their well being through sporting activities especially in this period that requires vigilance, alertness and general wellness of personnel.
