Manchester United have made their worst start to a Premier League season in over a decade.
A 1-1 draw at home with Arsenal means Jose Mourinho’s team have only amassed 19 points from their opening 12 fixtures, the worst return since the 2004/05 season.
In what has been a miserable start to life at Old Trafford for Mourinho, an eagerly anticipated fixture with his famous rival Arsene Wenger looked like the opportune moment for the Portuguese manager to kick-start his season.
After a scrappy first 45 minutes, Juan Mata gave Manchester United a 1-0 lead after 68 minutes only to see their hopes of victory snatched away by Oliver Giroud who headed in an equaliser in the 90th minute.
