Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted his side have a mental block when it comes to playing Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Gunners have an abysmal record on United’s ground, having last won there in the Premier League all the way back in the 2006/07 season.
As well as that, Wenger also has a poor head-to-head record against United manager Jose Mourinho, having never beaten the former Chelsea boss in the Premier League.
Fans have often criticised Arsenal’s players for lacking the bottle to play against United at Old Trafford, and their manager has now basically admitted as much in his assessment of today’s 1-1 draw.
‘Maybe it’s a mental block here because for a while it didn’t go well for us,’ Wenger said in response to questions over a timid Arsenal display.
Still, the Frenchman was delighted with his side’s late comeback, saying: ‘We had a good response and once again, the players who came on made a massive difference today.’
