Antonio Conte continues with three at the back with Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill aiming to help the Blues to a sixth consecutive Premier League clean sheet.

Further forward Eden Hazard makes his 150th Premier League start for Chelsea while Diego Costa is fit to start after missing out on Spain’s friendly draw with England.

Middlesbrough meanwhile give a first Premier League start to full-back Fabio, while Alvaro Negredo is the man charged with breaching the Chelsea defence.

Middlesbrough starting XI: Valdes; Barragan, Chambers, Gibson, Fabio; De Roon, Clayton, Forshaw; Traore, Ramirez; Negredo.

Subs: Guzan, Bernardo, Nsue, Leadbitter, Downing, Fischer, Rhodes

Chelsea starting XI: Courtois; Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso; Pedro, Diego Costa, Hazard.

Subs: Begovic, Ivanovic, Terry, Chalobah, Fabregas, Oscar, Batshuayi
