Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud was pictured with Manchester United great David Beckham after his goal in the dying moments at Old Trafford this weekend.
Giroud started on the bench against the Red Devils but scored the Gunners’ equalising goal after replacing Mohamed Elneny midway through the second-half.
Arsene Wenger’s side were dominated by United for much of the game but the Frenchman’s powerful headed meant the match finished 1-1.
And, following the result, Arsenal legend Robert Pires uploaded a photograph of himself alongside Giroud, Santi Cazorla and United icon Beckham.
The four stars were attending the Global Gift Gala, an initiative aimed at supporting the lives of children and women around the world.
After his goal at Old Trafford, Giroud revealed what Wenger said to him before he came on as a second-half substitute.
‘Just to give the maximum,’ he said.
‘Try to bring your small cog to the big machine. Defend from set-pieces and try to run and make my teammates play.
‘I try to give solutions to my teammates because at the end of the game we were a bit tired, so just to try to bring something different, in the air especially as well.’
