Incredible stats show Chelsea signed an absolute machine in Kante

Chelsea have signed an absolute midfield machine in N’Golo Kante this season, and his immense numbers in tackles and interceptions proves it.

The Blues beat a host of top clubs to the Frenchman’s signature this summer, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus all rumoured to be after him after his incredible debut season in the Premier League with Leicester City.

Kante, 25, was a major force behind the Foxes’ shock title win last term, and it is his amazing defensive work rate that sets him apart from his peers.

Despite being in this league for just over a year, Kante is already third in the division for tackles and interceptions, taking into account numbers for the last three seasons via Ben McAleer of WhoScored.com.

The £32million man is behind only Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal and Stoke City’s Erik Pieters – but not by a long way at all.

Chelsea have been totally unrecognisable this season from the side that finished 10th in the table last year, and many have hailed the presence of Kante alongside Nemanja Matic (fourth in this list) as one of the main factors behind their improvement.
