Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham: Blues stage comeback to end Spurs’ unbeaten run

Chelsea maintained their winning run and their place at the top of the Premier League after coming from behind to beat Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham struck early on to ensure Chelsea’s run of consecutive clean sheets came to an end, but couldn’t hang on against Antonio Conte’s devastatingly in-form side.

It was a nervy start from the Blues, however, and it took just 11 minutes for Spurs to end their hosts impressive run of six consecutive clean sheets in the league.

It was Christian Eriksen who broke the deadlock with a superb strike from just outside the box, and they were the better side for much of the first half.

However, Chelsea hit back just before half time with another delightful individual goal, this time by Pedro, who turned on the edge of the box before curling an unstoppable effort beyond Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham were caught cold in the second half and Victor Moses capitalised with a late run into the box to make it 2-1 via a deflected effort.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side offered little from that point onwards, and it remains an incredible 26 years since Spurs last won at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea take on Manchester City next, and will be delighted to have proven their credentials against similarly difficult opposition here.
