Schweinsteiger's brother aims dig at Mourinho after midfielder makes Man Utd return

It was a scarcely believable thought six weeks ago but Bastian Schweinsteiger was turning out for Manchester United at Old Trafford once more against West Ham on Wednesday night.

The 32-year-old was making his first appearance of the season and his first outing under Jose Mourinho, who told the midfielder he could leave the club in the summer.

Schweinsteiger was forced to train with the U23s earlier in the season but he’s impressed the United staff with his professionalism over the course over the last few months.

The German remains a huge crowd favourite at Old Trafford and was given a standing ovation as he came onto the field.

Schweinsteiger’s brother, Tobi, was quick to pick up on the response from the United faithful and aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Mourinho with his ‘fans know best’ comment on Twitter.

It’s not the first time that Tobi’s hit out at Schweinsteiger, having tweeted ‘no respect’ following Mourinho’s decision to force the midfielder into training with the club’s U23s earlier in the season.
