Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is confident Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be back in action on Boxing Day following the Armenian’s injury against Tottenham.
Mkhitaryan fired United in front against Spurs but was forced off late on after a collision with defender Danny Rose.
In worrying scenes for United fans, the 27-year-old was taken off on a stretcher – but Mourinho has revealed the injury is not serious.
He said after the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford: ‘It doesn’t look serious, no surgery. The next game I don’t think so but we hope he will be back for Boxing Day.’
Mourinho also said he was pleased with his side’s performance, adding: ‘We were very organised at the back and defended well to take the clean sheet.
‘These three points are magic because it’s against a very good team which means even more for us.’
