IGP Idris orders arrest of police, military and govt. officials for sexual misconduct in IDP camps

Scandalous allegations of sexual molestation against vulnerable persons in IDP camps by security officials, have been in the news for a some time. Against this backdrop, the Inspector  General of Police, Ibrahim Idris announced the arrest of three  soldiers, two policemen, an Air Force officer, an employee of the  Borno State ministry of agriculture and two members of the Civilian JTF.

Idris said that any suspect found guilty of criminal misconduct will face the full wrath of the law.

For its own  part, the Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiative, PCNI, has continued to review and improve camp management protocols  to ensure that vulnerable persons are kept safe and secured at all times.
