GOOD NEWS: Presidency promises to pay protesting Falcons on Friday

President Muhammadu Buhari, has promised to pay all outstanding bonuses and allowances to the Super Falcons within 48 hours, after they staged a protest to the National Assembly on Wednesday morning.

The country’s senior women national team, have not received their entitlements since they won this year’s Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

They have resorted to a sit-in protest at their Abuja hotel since they arrived back in Nigeria and have also seized the trophy they won.

Their action was strategic, as Buhari was due to submit the 2017 Budget to the lawmakers today.

The president, through his chief of staff, Abba Kyari, has promised to pay all their entitlements in two days. The players were told to submit a means of contact, before being told to return to their hotel.

Florence Omagbemi’s players are being owed at least $16,500 each in match bonuses.

  1. It is a very big shame that it actually took the victorious ladies to protest with placards for the govt. to wake-up to it’s responsibilities concerning those African champions, it is even more shameful and embarrassing for somebody who is a minister in this Buhari’s administration to openly exhibit his foolishness by saying he couldn’t make provision for the payment of these ladies accumulated allowances & match bonuses because he, as stupid as his reasoning is, didn’t know that the ladies will come out victorious. Yet this same minister, it was reported, spent tens of millions of our Naira to charter an aircraft to go watch this same ladies he said he didn’t give any chance, and you ask: so the minister haven been convinced that the ladies didn’t stand any chance to win, what then did he go to Cameroon with N40m chartered flight to do, jamboree, as usual by our insensitive govt. officials even under this PMB’s supposedly corrective regime? Who is actually fooling who in this our country? The NFF should quickly pay these ladies their accumulated allowances immediately while govt. makes preparations to host the our African pride soonest!
