Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger refused to be drawn on transfer speculation linking Alexis Sanchez with a lucrative move to China.
The Chilean forward is rumoured to be wanted by Manuel Pellegrini at Hebei Chijna Fortune with the club reportedly ready to make Sanchez the best-paid player in world football.
Pellegrini said: “If Alexis wants to come, we have a club for him right now. He can come to join us in China immediately.”
And Wenger did little to quash the rumour by saying anyone that wanted to go to China was welcome to leave.
“If people want to go to China, they go to China,” sid Wenger in a press conference on Friday. “I have completely different worries today ahead of the Manchester City game.
“I think I closed that subject, there is nothing more to add.”
Speaking ahead of the crucial match against Pep Guardiola’s City, Wenger doesn’t want his side to be “timid”.
“What is important is that we respond straight away [to the Everton defeat],” Wenger added.
“Big games against City mean defending well together and not being timid when you get the ball.”
