James Rodriguez in Colombia to obtain a UK work permit ahead of Premier League

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez is in Colombia to obtain a UK work permit, according to reports.

Colombia-based newspaper El Tiempo claim that the 25-year-old is at the British embassy in Bogota in order to tie up details of his transfer to England.

‘He is in Colombia and will spend his Christmas celebrations with us, we will travel to Medellin,’ Pilar Rubio, James’ mother, told Citytv Bogota.

Follow Madrid’s victory in the Club World Cup in Japan, Rodriguez admitted that he was open to leaving the club in the upcoming transfer window.

‘I cannot guarantee that I’ll stay at Real Madrid after the winter window,’ he told Cope. ‘I have offers and seven days to think.’

Several reports in Spain have linked the Colombia international with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
