Ibrahimovic has achieved something not seen at Manchester United since Cristiano Ronaldo left

If there was any doubt that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a huge success since joining Manchester United, this particular stat settles it.

The Swede took his tally for the season to 16 goals in all competitions at the weekend with a brace against West Brom in the Premier League.

That number of goals hasn’t been achieved prior to Christmas Day since Cristiano Ronaldo managed it during the 2007/08 season.

That stat is one of many impressive feats achieved by the Swede in his short stint at Old Trafford.

His 11 goals in his first 16 Premier League appearances is only bettered by Ruud van Nistelrooy, who scored 12 after arriving in the summer of 2001.

Meanwhile only Chelsea’s Diego Costa has scored more winning goals in the Premier League this season than Ibrahimovic’s four.
