MAPOLY set to become university of technology

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state, has demanded for legal backing to elevate the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to a University of Technology.

This was contained in a letter sent to the state house of assembly by the governor.

Suraj Adekunbi, the speaker, read the letter at plenary on Thursday.

The letter dated December 28, read: “bill for a law to provide for the establishment of Moshood Abiola University of Technology and for matters of administration and discipline of students connected therewith.”

Adekunbi said the letter also contained a bill for a law to provide for the establishment, incorporation, constitution and function of the Ogun state polytechnic, Ipokia, and for “other matters incidental thereto”.

He said the governor explained that the decision was made and approved during the 51st meeting of the state executive council.

  1. This is long overdue, the product of this polythenic as excel in many area which the incumbent governor himself is one of them .i am proud of this development, Hope funding will not be the problem? I know what I am saying here I have seen a lot about this institution where government will make budget and the school get only minimal for the to rely on school fees to sustain.

  2. That is good idea, if the incumbent governor can try as much as possible to do his own part; meanwhile he is one of the oldest students of that school, he graduated from the school. Amosun is trying his best, that’s another development to Abeokuta as a capital, good idea. Amosun keep it up.
