Manchester United want Zlatan Ibrahimovic for another two years.

The Swede signed a 12-month contract in the summer, with an option for a further season if Manchester United were happy with him.

Zlatan Ibrahimvoic is tipped to stay at Old Trafford for another two years

And after 19 goals this campaign United will activate the clause — and also want another year following that, taking Zlatan to the age of 37.

The new two-year deal would take him through to June 2019.

The player himself was initially reluctant to agree an extension when he went through a goals slump, scoring just once in 11 appearances.

But his form has picked up and he has now netted 13 in as many games, including Sunday’s vital equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

It is not just Ibrahimovic’s impact on the field that boss Jose Mourinho likes.

While Wayne Rooney is United captain, it is the Swede who provides the inspiration off the field.

There are even thoughts at the highest level about a possible coaching role at Old Trafford when his playing days end.

Antonio Valencia will also remain at United until 2018 after the club triggered a one-year extension in his contract.

The Ecuadorian, 31, has become a key player for the Red Devils since joining from Wigan in 2009.

His displays have earned him a place as Mourinho’s first-choice right-back.

And he has now been rewarded with an extended stay at United.
