National Orientation Agency Issues Fresh Security Alert To Nigerians

The Federal Government, through the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr Garba Abari has issued an alert to all organizations to be security conscious.

In a statement by NOA which was made available to ADELOVE, the federal government said the alert was necessary following the defeat and removal of Boko Haram from Sambisa forest. The NOA said the public should be wary of terrorists from Sambisa who were lucky enough to escape death in the hands of Nigerian soldiers.

“All Nigerians are hereby put on notice that fleeing terrorists can show up anywhere and under any guise.” The statement read.

“It is therefore advisable that in our Churches, Mosques, Markets, Bus stops, Revival grounds, Payer mountains, Schools, Social gatherings and in fact all places where people gather in large numbers, that we should watch out for suspicious looking strangers and strange objects and report to security agencies” the statement added.

The agency advised citizens to “carry out security checks on persons and objects which may attract suspicion” so as not to fall victim of terror attacks.

The agency further urged Nigerians to give this security alert the widest circulation in communities, churches, mosques, schools, markets etc, and wished everyone a peaceful, productive and happy 2017.
