After his shocking death, Bishop Eddie Long of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, was laid to rest yesterday with his family, clergy, former Gov. Roy Barnes, Deion Sanders and others present and delivering tributes.

It was gathered that he was buried in a $100k coffin, while his remains wore a clerical gown.

Eddie Lee Long was an American pastor who served as the senior pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, a megachurch in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, from 1987 until his death.

  1. Working in the funeral industry myself, that casket was nowhere near 100K, maybe more like 10-15K. The whole funeral may have been around 100K with all the bells and whistles, but I think the Funeral Directors were either members or associates of Long’s church so I know they got a huge deal.

  2. Don’t believe the hype. I am a Funeral Director and I very sure that he was not in a 100k casket. The casket was not trim in real gold nor did it come close to a permeathian casket in which Micheal, Whitney, and James brown was laid to rest in. In addition, the only public fan fair was his eight our viewing. No other public ceremony took place that would run his family Funeral bill to 100k.
