It was gathered that the Oyo State Government on Tuesday attributed omission of account numbers and mismatched records as some of the reasons causing the delay in payment of stipends to the beneficiaries of N-Power programme in the state.
The State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Atinuke Osunkoya, said this in Ibadan while giving report on the N-Power job creation and empowerment scheme.
She stated that the Federal Government paid the money directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts thereby eliminating any input of the states.
Osunkoya said some of the supposed beneficiaries did not qualify at the verification stage as they supplied wrong or insufficient information, stressing that while those who qualified were paid, not all of their accounts were eventually credited by the bank because of the type of accounts they were using or because their accounts were dormant.
Osunkoya called on the beneficiaries who were yet to be paid to confirm their status at the state Ministry of Women Affairs, noting that the lists of unpaid beneficiaries had been pasted at the ministry.
“If the applicant’s non-payment problem is related to their bank account details, they need to confirm with their banks the status and account details.
“They also need to ensure that details tally after which they will log into npvn.npower.gov.ng or send an email with their correct details to firstname.lastname@example.org,” she said.
