The District Head of the village, Alhaji Bashir Ibrahim Mohammed, reported the incident to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sunusi II.
According to him, the incident occurred at Taka Lafiya village, about 90 kilometres away from the local government headquarters.
Alhaji Mohammed while giving another update on the outbreak to the Kano emirate on Wednesday, said the incident occurred three weeks ago.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, confirmed the incident on Thursday but declined to give details of the casuality figure.
He said: “Two cases of Lassa fever were also confirmed in Tudun Wada Local Government area of Kano thus the state has intensified efforts to curtail the situation.”
