NIS Redeploy 518 Officer from Five Airports

Mr. Muhammad Babandede, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, has redeployed 518 personnel from five major airports in the country.

‎The NIS said in a statement signed by its Spokesperson, Mr. Sunday James, on Sunday that the affected  airports are the‎ Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos;  Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja; and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano,.

‎Others are the Port Harcourt International Airport and Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

The statement quoted the Comptroller-General as saying that the measure was also meant to‎ ‎reduce the number of officers and men in the formations by half, for efficient service delivery, adding that the directive which was part of the on-going reforms in the service would also help to checkmate sharp practices among the affected officers.

Babandede also warned men of the NIS to support the on-going change in the system and eliminate all unnecessary bureaucracy in the course of rendering services to the public.
