APC Lived Up To Expectation, Nobody Promised Miracle – Oshiomhole

Former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, believes the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lived up to expectation, especially in the area of fighting corruption.

Oshiomhole, who appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today, noted on Monday that the party never promised Nigerians miracles before it took over power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.

“I think the party has lived up to expectation, the government has done very well. Nobody promised a miracle, there are no miracles in the life of nations,” he said.

The former governor noted that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has recorded a number of successes in its anti-corruption drive.

He, however, said Nigerians do not expect the present administration to fix what had been destroyed in many years in just two years.

“What takes several years to destroy cannot be fixed in two years. Yes, we have less than two years to go but I believe that a couple of things have changed, in fact, many things have changed.

‘You will agree that for a long time, corruption was more or less adopted as a fundamental principle of state policy such that if you complained about corruption, you get sacked,” he said.

Oshiomhole, who spoke hours after President Buhari addressed Nigerians after returning from his medical leave in London, lauded the President’s comments on Nigeria’s unity.

He said, “The essence of his broadcast this morning was to say I am not only back, I am sufficiently strong to resume duties. I think that that perhaps, was the most important element in his speech; namely that ‘this ethnic champions will be dealt with according to law’.

“That nobody has a right to undermine the unity, peace, and stability of our country. Whether you are agitating to re-negotiate Nigeria and you are conducting yourself in a way that clearly undermines national security, you will be dealt with firmly.”

  1. Definately Comrade we do not expect miracles from this government…the questions that beg for answer today that is causing agitations is- what have you and your party been able to achieve even with the “meager” resources that has accrued to the nation in the last two years of this administration???
And for you Mr.Comrade you left your state more impoverished than it was before you took over – Today there is no Passable road from Okene to Benin apart from the small portion in front of your House and village at Iyamo……You were seen as a beacon of hope for the masses and voiceless in Nigeria. You failed all of us that trusted you even with our lives…… Cry O Beloved country.
