Last night, the state police command issued a statement saying, ‘while the Command recognizes the right of citizens to carry out peaceful protest, the police will not standby and watch protesters take laws into hands nor allow miscreants to hijack the protest’.

The protest was scheduled to kick off at 7am today but LIB reporters on ground reports that the organisers of the protest are just arriving and now the protest is scheduled to kick off at about 10am.

  1. I still can’t comprehends the reason behind tollgate price increased, the Lagos state govt told us last year they have bought the contract from LCC. The tollgates are now be run by state govt and as of last month state governor said there is no plans to increase toll fees. Why the increase! And no official statement from the govt ,the worse part of it is no protest either from opposition party or civil society group. what a state of Nation

  2. Even if dey protest from now till tomorrow, nothing will be done, the toll fare has been hike already…. and d policemen should take it easy, we do not want to record any loss if life.
