Buhari hates Igbos so much, he’ll never handover power to them – Ugochukwu-Uko

President of Igbo Youth Movement, IYM, Evangelist Elliot Ugochukwu-Uko, has said that politicians spreading the hope of Igbo presidency come 2019 are only insulting the people of the Southeast.

According to Ugochukwu-Uko, the belief that Igbo would be president in 2023 by backing President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 was only another form of deception.

He said that Buhari hated Igbo so much that he would never handover power to them, adding that the President’s hatred for the people of Southeast was evident in his appointments. The IYM leader made this assertion while fielding questions from Sun.

He said, “All the people glibly mouthing Igbo presidency in 2023 are alienating themselves from Igbo votes.

“Ndigbo find it so insulting that some people think that we are so stupid to believe that a man who hates Ndigbo so much that he refused to appoint an Igbo man into the security council will suddenly hand over power to Ndigbo.

“It’s the most idiotic narrative ever sold to humanity. It would have been better not to say anything than to say that. So, anytime they say that they offend the sensibilities of Ndigbo.

“That’s one. Secondly, Igbo people are not interested in the presidency as much as they are interested in enthroning equity and justice through a structure anchored on true federalism.

“The most important thing to Ndigbo is to have a restructured Nigeria where every zone grows at its own pace.

“That is more important than a Kanuri president in 2042, a Nupe president in 2058, an Itshekiri president in 2071 and a Berom president in 2084. All those narratives are so idiotic and very unintelligent.

“Someone holds unto an unwieldy military structure and is nepotistic in his appointments and you are telling those that he sidelined to wait for their own turn for the presidency so that he will sideline others. That doesn’t give room for harmonious co-existence.

“So, what we are working on is how to restructure Nigeria by whittling the powers at the centre so as to return the country to the way it was in the First Republic under the 1963 constitution.

“In 2019, they will look at the presidential candidates and choose the one that best protects their interest. It has always been that way.”

  1. Ugochukwu Ukoh, please give yourself some level of respect. I am not that daft to believe that it lies one one person to determine who will win the election in 2023. In case he doesn’t know, why some people are saying that it is more likely that a Nigerian president of igbo extraction will materialize on the platform of APC is that if PMB wins again in 2019, he would have completed his two-terms by 2023, thereby paving way for a possible igbo president in contrast to what will happen if another person from the northern part of the country wins in 2019 and obviously would want a complete two-term tenure thereby delaying the igbo presidency by at the least, four years. That’s simply the logic.

  2. We do not need to be personal in this issue. My worry is that the man has not given cogent reasons to support the fact that Buhari hates the Igbos. Please bring out fact so that no one will be misled

  3. This guy comments really show that many Nigerians are not only fools but imbeciles. How could you accuse someone of hating you so much but turn the blind eyes to the hatred that first emanated from you and our people during 2015 and worst still till date. The Bible says we love God because He first loved us. You dished out hatred but want love for yourself. How can that happen? While the president is very wrong in not appointing many Igbos into his cabinet as he is the father of all as president, it is very satanic to start accusing someone of what you are the most offender. What a shame!
